Abstrak

PT CC is a coal company operating in East Kalimantan Province. To achieve
production targets, the company needs to perform maintenance and repair
machinery to ensure smooth production processes. The fixed plant department
is located at the port, where coal is transferred from hauling to barges. Coal is
moved to the barges using a conveyor, which feeds into a chute that transports
coal at a capacity of 2000 tons per hour with a conveyor speed of 3.2 meters
per second. This causes friction between the chute walls and the coal, leading
to wear on the chute walls. This research aims to design a chute liner using
ceramic alumina material for the chute walls. The researchers experimented by
replacing the chute wall material from ASTM A36 with ceramic alumina. Based
on the research results, the design created using SolidWorks software produced
shapes and dimensions that align with the research concept. Load analysis
indicated that the design has a stress value of 0.10108 N/mm², which is lower
than the yield strength of ASTM A36 material. Therefore, the chute design is
safe from damage due to coal loading.
